European Speech and Language Therapy Association

Supporting Ukraine

We would like to inform you that ESLA in collaboration with colleagues from the International

Association of Communication Sciences and Disorders (IALP) and the International Communication Project (ICP) have been fully engaged with the World Health Organisation- Rehabilitation in Emergencies initiative in its response to the invasion of Ukraine.

We have been in touch with Oksana Lyalka from the Ukrainian Society of Speech and Language Therapy to identify needs for resources, training and equipment.

We have drawn an online form in which we are gathering information from:

1. Ukrainian SLTs who are seeking to give therapy or need a place to provide therapy from 2. Ukrainian individuals who require to start or continue receiving Speech-Language Therapy.

3. Any other SLTs who are fluent in Ukrainian and can give their help, even via online means.

Depending on the country where the individual seeking help is, we are passing on the information to our respective member organisation in that country so together we can seek to provide the necessary help. Individuals requiring/offering help are to fill in this form with their details so we can get in touch with them. By filling in this form one is consenting that their information will be passed on to the appropriate member association.

We are already receiving requests from both SLTs and clients/patients seeking help. We would be grateful if you help us spread the link further to access anyone who can benefit from this support.
